meet the therapist

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to walking alongside you through the strange and beautifully uncertain terrain of life. Many of my own lived experiences have influenced my professional identity, so here is a brief snippet to paint that picture. I dived into the helper field as a music therapist, interning at a local hospital where I held space for folks facing fear and uncertainty. Through some of those encounters, I began to understand the immense power and healing that occurs simply through connection and compassion. Prior to entering this field, I thrived in caregiver roles, specifically devoting multiple years of my life to supporting young adults and children with developmental and other disabilities. I remain actively engaged in these communities to this day. Finally, as a human being myself, I have encountered grief and other life experiences that shape how I hold space for others. When I’m not wearing my therapy hat, I enjoy volunteering at a local organization for children with exceptionalities, learning martial arts, and enjoying our community’s arts and music scene.

If I were to describe my approach in just a few words, it is that I show up with curiosity, compassion, creativity, and a deep respect for your emotional experience. I specialize in holding space for those navigating grief and loss—whether that means letting go of old versions of themselves, mourning the death of a loved one, or coping with life changes that feel beyond their control. I also value assisting folks through religious deconstruction and self-discovery.

experience

My clinical training began at Responsibility House, a residential treatment facility serving adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. During this time, I developed extensive experience in providing individual counseling, facilitating group psychotherapy, conducting mental health assessments, diagnosing mental health conditions, implementing case management and delivering crisis interventions. This work has fostered strong competencies in motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care.

In my work so far, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through a wide variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, complex trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, questions around identity and purpose, experiences of neurodivergence, substance use, psychosis, difficulties with relationships, emotional distress, and major life transitions.
